This is me - I’m a documentary filmmaker who spends a lot of time thinking about stories, films and why people do the things they do.

I’m drawn to telling powerful stories through the people at the heart of my films and I enjoy working closely with contributors and collaborators to create films that connect with audiences on an emotional level. I’m always looking for new ways to tell stories and tend to get excited by projects that don’t fit neatly into one box. Alongside my screen work, I’ve taken stories to the stage, such as the one man show Am I Invisible Yet? and Jess Thom’s Burnt Out In Biscuitland, because I’m fascinated by how stories can evolve and find new audiences across different mediums.

I love music documentaries, which led me to make the film I Get Knocked Down, a feature documentary about Chumbawamba where we explored what it means to stick to your principles while accidentally writing one of the most recognisable songs in the

world.

My film My Beautiful Broken Brain a Netflix Original feature documentary and collaboration with Lotje Sodderland, was executive produced by David Lynch and won the IDFA DOCU Award, the Ahftaz Festival Documentary Award and TRT, as well as receiving a special mention from the AWJ for Best Female Director. I’ve also made BAFTA, RTS and Emmy-winning films for streamers, including Surgeon's Cut for Netflix, Your Life in Their Hands for the BBC and My Dead Body for Channel 4, and have explored diversity, disability and representation through films such as Touretteshero: Me, My Mouth and I.

I am passionate about championing diversity and representation within the industry and creating opportunities for new and under-recognised creative talent. I enjoy pushing the boundaries of what documentary storytelling can be and believe that they can be ambitious, entertaining and emotionally powerful all at once.
